The Single Audit is required for all state and local governments that expend greater than $750,000 in federal and/or
state grant awards. Grant expenditures from a respective fiscal year are categorized into one report which can then be
audited as a whole versus individually, hence the term "Single Audit." Guidelines are set forth in both the federal and
state regulations at the bottom of the page.
