Bond Elections

Travis County provides its community with a process whereby the voters are given the opportunity to approve or disapprove a proposed new issue of municipal securities. Travis County’s general obligation bonds constitute public debt, and as a result require their issuance be approved by voters at the ballot box, this includes the county’s Road bonds and Public improvement bonds. The debt approved for issuance is used to help the county raise money for construction and other vital projects.
